This is a studio course that introduces and teaches how to create works of art using the Acrylic medium. This class focuses on learning the techniques and skills needed to create representational and abstract paintings. Students will learn how to paint different compositions such as still life, landscapes, figure and portrait paintings. Furthermore, the development of observational skills, problem solving techniques, and fundamentals of form and composition such as color, shape, line, mass and space will be introduced. This helps to develop the visual thinking that strengthens the creative process. This class provides the opportunity for greater individual and artistic experimentation and expression. Throughout the course, references to art history and to traditional and contemporary concepts of aesthetics will be discussed. The supply list is available at the Arts Barn front desk.
